Most job hunting expenses -including the cost of preparing resumes, career counseling, employment agencies, and even meals incurred during interviews are tax deductible. You don't have to be successful in finding another job to take them. You, however, must search for jobs in your own field. Keep a list of dates and times of job interviews and the cost of going to them and even the invoices from the printer who prepares a resume or job counselor who sets up the meetings.. If you're on a vacation and happen to line up a few interview, you can only deduct a portion such as the cab fare to and from the interview.
